Discover My “Why?”
It is very important to know why: it justifies actions, gives motivation and overall it is a very good indicator whether one likes certain things or not.
My answer to “why?” comes in two different parts, one determining and supporting the other.
Part one, refers to what I am doing now: working in hospitality business, putting in lots and lots of hours, constantly in the “creating the ultimate experience for our customers” type of mood, hoping that tomorrow I will be less tired than today and a year from now I will have time for that “one” vacation long overdue. Why am I doing this? Because I like working with people. I like to make them feel special. I like to put a smile on their face and I absolutely like to exceed their expectations day after day. I consider my profession a great one, I take pride in it and I would choose it again if I had to.
Let’s take a look at the second part of my “why”: if I like my job so much, why do I want to change it? Why do I need the freedom lifestyle? Well, it is very simple: 9 months ago I became the proud father of an awesome baby boy, Alex. He became instantly The Reason for me and will stay this way for as long as I live. I definitely want to spend a lot of time with him, as much as possible. The world needs more nice people and I really want to give the world the nicest one ever. I want him to become better, to achieve more and to be extremely successful in any aspects of his life. Hence my need for freedom, combined with the need for a real good income source.
To sum it up: regardless of how much I love my job, I need to find a way to move to a less stressful place, to find a lifestyle that can give me the freedom to take care of the most important reason of my life: Alex.
